In 1953 Maruchan brand got it’s start in Japan. Mr. Kazua Mori owned a frozen fish distribution center in Japan named Toyo Suisan. In 1961 Mr. Mori decided to branch out into other areas of the food industry. His goal was to provide a high quality, affordable product. This ultimately led to his decision to focus on Ramen Noodles. Mr. Mori’s Ramen noodles then quickly gained popularity in the Japanese Market. It was at this point Mr. Mori decided he waned to expand his product to other parts of the world. Mr. Mori decided to move his business to the United States settling in the state of California. Since 1971 Maruchan Brand has continued to Manufacture Ramen Noodles and currently provides 17 distinct flavors of Ramen Noodles. While Maruchan may be Manufactured in the United States, Ramen-Noodles.com categorizes it as a Japanese Brand Ramen Noodle to highlight the origin of this business.
